MG MGB Technical - Prop Shaft Refitting

Hi,
About to refit the prop shaft to my 1977 mgb roadster. I ordered new fixing nuts and bolts from the MGOC and received 8 new lock-nuts, 4 normal bolts and 4 half-moon bolts and 4 spring washers. The parts list also only lists 4 spring washers.
Does anyone know why only 4 washers and not 8, and which bolts or nuts to place them under ?

Haynes and the Leyland Workshop Manual show spring washers at the gearbox end, under the nuts, but not the axle end.
