MG MGB Technical - Re-establishing door gaps on shell

I posted this on the midget tech board since it applies to the bugeye I am restoring, but it works so well and applies equally to the B, so I will re-post here.

When restoring these cars, we all know enough to brace the door gaps before cutting. But what to do when the shell has already sagged? Or as was my case, I accidentally removed the rear clip and attendant floor from the bugeye?

The pics show a very cheap and effective way to re-establish these gaps.

The beauty is that the gaps can be adjusted with the doors closed and the results observed as they happen.

Great idea Pete, I've added that one to my list for sure. I'm sure it will come in handy for someone down the line.

I used the same method on my VW Beetle restoration. I also added another set going East-West because the door post needed to be rebuilt. I thought is was quite clever at the time.
