MG MGB Technical - Rear Brake Cylinder E-Clip

For those experienced in these matters!

Rear brake cylinder E-Clip—Convex side towards backplate or away?

Many thanks.
Julian Wooldridge

Julian Convex side away from the backplate AND the backplate on the bench if possible. You need plenty of patience and the children out of earshot. Good luck. Peter

Can a circlip be subsituted for the e-clip ?
Louie

What is the deal on e-clips and circlips ? The two piece original clips are cake ,just polish them on a wire wheel lube them lightly and they go in as they should/RIC

Louie,
I've had good luck using circlips. Just use a wide one.
