MG MGB Technical - rear brake differences

O.k. its been some time but I am back once more. The B has been doing well.
One question for the gurus here.. The rear brake cylinders started leaking so I ordered replacements. I got one but it was for a BGT. With the storm today (central FL) I didn't get out there to compare. I contacted the vendor but they were closed temporarily due to the snow.
Is there a difference? Are they swappable? Meaning, should I order another BGT cylinder or return it for two B cylinders?
I searched but didn't find the info needed.
If I use BGT cylinders, will they fit in the hole of the backing plate and mount? Can i use the B shoes with BGT cylinders?
Is the only difference the bore?
Thank you!
My son now owns the B and I only drive it now and then. We also bought some land in PEI and it would be nice to take it up the coast on trips when the weather is nice.

The GT cylinder will not fit a roadster backing plate unless you file a notch or drill another hole for the GT cylinder index pin. The pins are in different positions. I feel you should use the same cylinder on both sides, otherwise you will probably have un-balanced rear brakes. I would exchange the GT cylinder for a roadster cylinder for simplicity. The brake shoes aren't a problem, they are the same for either vehicle. Good to see you back.

You have to drill a hole on the backplate to
accomodate the locating pin on the GT cylinder.

If you intend on installing the GT rear cylinders
...then you MUST install them on BOTH sides.

The piston diameter inside the GT cylinders are
slightly bigger for more "whoa!" power as the GT's
were slightly heavier than the roadsters. This was
a common Special Tuning modification on
factory racer MGB's.

If you install on only one side, then you will
have uneven braking at the rear wheels.
