It is not done yet, but I thank those who have helped to get the info back up, and in better form than ever. Cheers, Bob M.

Thanks Bob

I always value your input and already made the "Bob Cleaner" conversion. Do you reference this? - I know that it is documented on Roger Hotelling's site which is where I point others.

Dwight,
You can find Roger Hotelling's Bob Filters Site at http://www.hotelling.com/mgb7.htm. I may eventually do a page on this air filter installation of my own, but why reinvent the wheel?? ;-)

Thanks for your kind comments gents, they are very much appreciated.

Thanks, gentlemen. You will be gratified to note that the aforementioned site has been redone today, and is complete for the time being. The address remains the same.

I did a similar air filter "conversion" on my "B."

In my instance, I re-used the coopers base-plate, mounting/air horn disk, bolts, washers, grommets and distance tubes. I found a single scrap piece of aluminum and bored holes big enough for the grommets and located the holes by measuring the installed coopers units. Sandwiched the K&N's between the base-plate and aluminum with the bolts installed and the whole shebang goes on the carbs in one shot. Grease was used as the seal.

As the chunk of aluminum was a little too big, I bent it on the top to a) help prevent me from getting cut on the edge and b) to prevent me having to do a lot of sawing on the aluminum sheet.

Worked pretty well until I found that I was getting pretty nasty heating of the air charge so I was losing a lot of the advantage.

Next will be an air-box... someday... when I got nothing but time... lol
