MG MGB Technical - Roadster doors...HELP
I'm re-building a 1969 mgb roadster. I've just bought a new Heritage door, but I can't get it to sit correctly without binding on the wing. The old door fitted O.K. with the new wing, so that seems to line up O.K. How can I adjust the hinges any more than it allows via the screws throught the door. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful???. |

Hi Martin, I have given the door fitting a good deal of thought and I reckon that your neighbours wife hit the nail on the head by suggesting you ask Nick. Steve |

Measure some how to get an idea of what space is needed to allow the door toclose properly. Find an outlet for some steel flat stock, and make shims to fit between the body and the hindge, just as there are shims for the door latch striker. just a simple thought. |

Are you using all the dimensions of adjustment? Did you know there were six? Have a look at http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/wn_bodyframe.htm and click on 'Doors' - might help, including on how to get the wing to line up with the door! |
