MG MGB Technical - Rolling radius

Can anyone tell me the correct rolling radius for the tyres on my '79 mgb roadster's standard steel wheels? I want to fit Yokohamas (either A539 or 'C' Drive AC01) for competition and can only find 175 60R 14 or 185 60R 14. My current tyres are Goodyear Eagles and the size is 185 70R 14. Does this mean that I have had the wrong tyres fitted for the last 5 years?!!!!

Using the ever helpful Miata tyre size calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) I get the original circumference as 1946.5 mm based on an original tyre size of 165/80R14.

I am using 185/65R15s on mine and have Yokohama C Drive tyres. I wanted A539s but they don't make them anymore. Can't tell you how they go yet as the car isn't done!

The tyres you have are pretty close. The others you mention are too small. Can you change to 15 inch wheels? It gives you a bigger choice in tyre both because or the bigger diameter and because you can fit a wider tyre although any wider than 195 and you may experience rubbing at the back.
