MG MGB Technical - Rotary motor in an MGB
I know this is being unfaithful to the breed, but after hearing so much about Mazda ( W*nkel) 1.3 liter motor that developes 237 h.p. and is 90 lbs. lighter than a conventional motor of the same displacement, plus being so much smaller, has anyone installed one in LBC of any kind--it appears that it would be a natural for a Sprite or a midget-not to mention our own beloved B's. |

Not an easy conversion, I would imagine. The crank shaft on the rotary engine is quite a bit higher than thaat of the stock motor. I'm sure it's been done...but I imagine some pretty extensive rework would be involved. The GM V6 conversions could probably come close to matching performance with lots less trouble. |

I saw and inspected a beautiful and very early silver MGB that had a 12A conversion not the 13B which is the one you mention. Slick car but it did take quite a bit of engineering according the owner and builder. |
