| Try posting this question on the MGB GT V8 and V8 Conversions BBS of this website. You'll get lot of help there. To answer your question, yes, it can be done, but it's much easier to do on a 1977 or later model as many of the most difficult modifications are already done (relocated radiator, motor mounts, dished wheelwells, etc. To do it on a 1968 model (first year of MKII production) would really be a shame. The 1968 models are now sought-after by collectors. If it's in good shape you could easily sell it and get an equal-condition 1977 or later MGB and have money left over to put into the conversion. Right now I'm building a custom 1972 model for a friend who will pay for my labor by signing over the title of his decent-condition 1968 MKII. He thinks that he's getting a good deal. So do I. |
