MG MGB Technical - Seat belt buckle substitute
Hello, My 73 B gave me trouble this morning. The seat belt buckle mechanism passed away with few parts on the floor. Result: impossible to fasten seat belt and it is against local regulation. I found a replacement at Moss but it will take more than a week to receive it. Is there a temporary solution like a buckle from another car that I could find in a scrapyard suitable for the MGB belt. Thanks all, JGC |

If you don't have a passenger you could use that.I changed mine over acouple of years ago as the drivers side was getting far more use. |

HI Jean, Funny thing I have seat belts out of a 74 MGB in my 74 midget. Those Damn thing lock up at every little jerk. Of course that is what they are suppose to do. The car I pull them from sat for 12 years I just sprayed a little WD40 on the lock teeth and they have worked wonders. Expect when I lean over to roll the passenger side window up I get locked in.
