MG MGB Technical - Seat belt question
I recently aquired a rebuilt, ex-USA 77 mgb roadster. There seems to be a problem with the position of the seat belt inertia reels. The previous owner has bolted them to anchor points on the rear wheel arch such that they prevent the hood frame lowering fully. It looks like I have to change them for static belts or reposition them to get the hood to fold down. The belts are marked Kangol but may not be the original type. They are not conected to the wiring loom and the previous owner has made many non standard changes to this car. Any suggestions? |

Check the sides of the arches and see if they have a mounting boss fitted. If so you can get mounting brackets from the MGOC, they allowed me to remount my inertia reels which were in a similar high position to yours. The top mounts were for GTs. |
