MG MGB Technical - shock oil top up
hi,has anybody ever topped up the front and rear shocks on mgb roadster,ive got the right grade oil but not sure if when topping up you have to jack the car up and take the weight off the wheels.cheers richard |

Richard - No need to take the weight off of the wheels except you will need to remove the front wheels for access. If the shocks are completely out of oil, you need to work them up and down to get teh air out of them. The easiest way to do that is to fill the shocks all the way, put the caps back on and drive the car for a couple of days and then refill any shcok where the oil level is down. You also need to check for leaks after a few days of driving the car after filling the shocks. Good luck - Dave |
