MG MGB Technical - Sierra Gearbox
Has any viewer fitted a Sierra gearbox to an 1800 MGB GT? If so can you give some tips and any mods needed to accomplish this feat. Waiting impatiently for expertise. |

Hi, I fitted a Datsun box to my B, and have co-written a comprehensive article on how it was done. The technique should be similar with a Sierra box. If you would like a copy send me an email with your email address. Cheers Herb |

I have had the Sierra gear box in my 1973 MGB GT for 8 years now. I used the kit sold thru Moss Motors US. No problems. The directions were excellent and all parts needed were supplied in the kit. A separate mod was made to recalibrate the speedometer at a truck shop by installing a little gearbox in the cable. After my '73 was wrecked, the engine and gear box were transfered to a 1971 B GT, this past year. runs fine. |
