MG MGB Technical - soft top
I have a 65 mgb roadster with a pack away hood. I have now been given a black frame. If i buy a soft top hood, with a zip out window will it fit a 65 model. thanks vignes |

The original zip window version was made for the black frame hood, but there could always be zip window versions of the other hoods made now so it would pay to check. Part no you want is HZA5123. |

Thanks Paul. was wondering if the dimensions of the car had changed over the years.Dont want to be caught with a later model which has a longer or shorter hood. thanks Vignes, |

Vignes, The cars changed dimensions from day to day!!!! Joking aside, they did vary a little but having a new hood fitted will be able to overcome the small discrepancies. The only other question I would have is with the securing studs and the over-centre clips on the screen. I've no doubt there will be folk who can answer this. |

Frames and hood material must match, other than that any frame with its correct hood will fit any car. The packaway frame slots into sockets screwed to the panel just behind the door opening. The two folding frames attach directly by screwing into the same holes, i.e. the sockets have to be removed. However for the later folding frame at least the sockets can be fitted under the hood frame brackets, for tonneau bars. |
