MG MGB Technical - Softer shocks for Moss telescopic Kit?
I'm finding that the shocks supplied by Moss are way too hard. Has anyone ever been able to nail down a p/n for a Monroe (or other)shock that won't shake my fillings loose? |

Lots on this in the archives. Also for a start, check the current Spax Dampers thread. |

Derek, as Mike says, check out the archives, especially in 1999, 2000, 2001. |

For What it's worth department --- On the "MGB Experience" web site, a fellow did a great deal of research on rear shock replacements -- brand names, shock travel absorbtion, etc -- a very detailed assesment on the "Monroe" replacement. It can be found under the DIY section, rear shock replacement --- or something along that line of header. It's on the left side of the screen, a bit down on topic menu. It's very informative, and should answer many of your basic questions. |

Here's the link to that site. http://www.mgbexperience.com/service/rear-shock.html |

And a good resource it is, glg, but our archival references cover much of the same discussion, just not compiled ~ only a few people take on the task of putting it all together and sometimes that is because they have either taken the time to do so, or they have already done coordinated research so why not share it if you have it in some sort of ready compilation? The archives are simply a way of sharing the uncompiled scraps that make a site like his or Tegler's, or many others valuable. This one is well worth a bookmark. |
