MG MGB Technical - Steering wheel adapter kit

Question, if I install a Grant steering wheel adapter kit for a new Grant steering wheel on my 1980 MGB will
this add any length to the steering wheel column or will the steering wheel remain in the same position?
Thanks,Rich
Rich

i had the grant wheel and adapter on my 74 b. the wheel was spaced back towards the driver 2 1/2 inches. i did not like the feel of the wheel placement also the horn did not work properly. i put the stock wheel back on the b. the wheel and adapter
are now sitting on my storage shelve.

Rich: I used a Grant adaptor to mount a non Grant wheel on a 76 roadster although I did not measure to check for length change I did not feel any great change. My thought is that the offset or "dish" of the new wheel should be the major consideration. RIC

Lloyd,
I assume you favored the dished wheel over the flat? Did you change the diameter of the wheel I am considering a 14 inch wheel. Also I am planning on a leather wheel for my rubber bumper car but wondered what anybody thought of a wood wheel on a rubber bumpered car?
Thanks, Rich

Rich I have a wooden rim on the 76 14" rather flat a MOMO I think but I'm not sure. I'm real happy with it and I get a lot of compliments RIC

Rich; update,I looked at the wooden wheel on the 76 today it's a BWA about 15 years old and still looks great and works well. RIC

My buddy is rather large (6'1", 230 lbs) and I'm helping him try to find a 13 inch or smaller steering wheel for his '71 MGB so he can drive it. He hasn't really driven it much since high school because his legs hit the steering wheel. I need an adaptor or appropriate smaller steering wheel, or even a 13" D-shaped steering wheel. Grant sells one for $100, but they only sell an adaptor for the '78-80 MGB.

Any suggestions or help? Thanks
Alex
