MG MGB Technical - Stretch BGT

Hello,

I have been interested in MG's for a period of time now and have myself a midget that i'm building as a racecar.

I have been thinking lately about the possibility of stretching a BGT. Ideally, it would be stretched by 30cm, keeping the doors the same and adding another similar to the doors on the Mazda RX8. This would allow for a larger rear seat in the back with more footroom aswell. As I can see, it can't think of a reason why it shouldn't be possible, obviously it will require a lot of custom built parts, and maybe cost a fortune on the insurance, but it would make a nice project and car for me.

Up to you, you're the experts.
