MG MGB Technical - Stuck

I own a 1969 MGB completely restored it 15 years ago.
Three months ago it was wear ended , after body repairs it didn’t shift correctly. I replaced clutch and slave cylinders with no luck.
I pulled the engine ant transmission to find the pressure plate was broken.
I’ve never seen that before.
I replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing,
Now the car will not shift while running.
Any suggestions.

If the clutch plate didn't get bent sitting the engine back in-?, then it sounds like the hydraulics need a good bleed
If you can get someone to watch the clutch fork and see how far it moves when you push the pedal to the floor would be the place to start-The pushrod should move more than 11/16" so probably around 1/2" on the end of the fork

If by 'when running' you mean engine running but standing still probably the clutch hydraulics as said. This is most obvious if it grinds when trying to select reverse. The other gears will just baulk silently.

Difficulties bleeding seem very common unless you use a high pressure bleeder and by that I mean a higher pressure than a gunson's Eezibleed uses.

Simplest with a filled system is to push the release arm and hence push-rod and piston all the way into the cylinder, if you hear gurgling from the master then that is getting air out. Make sure the clutch master has space at the top. May have to do that more than once.

If you have a partial clutch then wedge the pedal fully down over night, releasing it gently next morning and that can also flush air out. That may also need doing a couple of times.

One of the simplest ways I have found to fill from empty is to reverse fill by connecting the clutch slave to the right-hand caliper and using the brake pedal gently, while someone opens and closes the clutch bleed nipple for each down stroke. Stop when you can see fluid in the clutch master then top-off as normal, remembering to keep an eye on the brake master level.

You can also bleed that way after draining most of the fluid out of the master but still visible.

What works can vary from car to car.
