MG MGB Technical - SU Fuel pump
Hi all I bought a new AUF 300 series fuel pump. On one end, that sticks through the boot, there is a small port that looks like a small tube should be connected to. On the inlet/outlet end there is also a small port for a tube connection. What are these ports for, and where do they connect to on the other end? The pump I removed was an after market pump and did not have these ports. If there are tubes to be connected to these ports I don't know where they are? Thanks Johnny |

On an earlier car, those ports would be connected to tubes that run up into the boot to allow the pump to aspirate clean air rather than the spray and filth kicked up by the wheel. On a later car such as yours, I would expect that they would just be left open. HTH! |

They're air breather ports. Hook up plastic tubing (aquarium air hose) to them and route them to the trunk - cap the ends of the tubing with plastic "T" fittings. |
