MG MGB Technical - Tax disc names
I have bought a fascimile tax disc of the first tax disc my BGT would ever have had for shows etc. I have all the original info for the disc apart from the description How would the car be described on the disc MG BGT MG Coupe MG GT or whatever? Does anybody have an old tax disc that they can tell me what it says? I have never had a disc on this car in my ownership so don't have anything to check against |

It would have just said 'MG' AFAIK |

Under make yes it would be MG but what would iut say under model? The V5 says "Coupe" under model or would it be "BGT" really need an actual tax disc to see what they would have named it I have a 91 disc for one of my midgets here and it says "PLG" and "MG" on it for make and model |

A little bit of research of original images on google seems to say it should say PRIVATE MG so this is what I have went for for the repro. |

Yes, the taxation class was 'private', later changed to PLG (private, light goods). Now 'historic', of course. |

Here are a couple of slightly later discs. Possibly of interest to our overseas members, who otherwise might not know what we are talking about ;o) |
