MG MGB Technical - Technique for Brake master disassembly
I'm working at rebuilds (maybe replace) of the clutch and brake master cylinders on my 72 B (dual circuit M/C). tearing down the clutch MC was straight forward, but I'm challenged by trying to get the spiral snap ring off brake MC. Before I break something, or cut my finger open, I'm curious if anyone has run across a good technique for holding the outer cylinder down so you can work on the snap ring. Thanks Steve |

Steve, I think I usually just stick something in there that is long enough so I can hold it down by leaning on it. I suppose if you want to get fancy, you could cut a piece of wood dowel, cut a slot in the outboard end, pass a wire through the slot, and wire it down to the flange holes. Charley |
