MG MGB Technical - tyre pressures
what tyre pressures are recommended for mgb roadster running on 15" x 5.5J alloy wheels? Tyre size is 185x65x15. Thanks Ron Stevenson, Ayrshire, Scotland |

Ron, My car is a 1973 MGB with the Mini-lite wheels and Michelin Harmony tires. I was told to run 35psi and my car rides and handles great. Cheers, Robert |

You will need to experiment until you find the right pressure for your driving style and suspension set up. A good place to start would be 29 front, 32 rear. This seems to be an average among most owners. Higher pressures will increase steering response but too high will give a choppy ride and decrease traction. Lower pressure will give a nice ride but less precise handling. MGBs aren't heavy vehicles so they don't require high pressures for normal road use. Good luck! |
