MG MGB Technical - Undershields

I had fitted the Plastic undershields to a Roadster I had 25 years ago as it was used all year round.
At the time I used Large Flange pop rivets to secure them around the wheel arches which were unobtrusive and secure.
I have a set to fit to my BGT and wondered if anybody had any other thoughts on fitting, particulalrly one that can be removed and replaced. The only other way I can think of is screws with captive plates but these will be quite visible around the arch.
How have others fitted theirs?

There are some horrors around. Unless you have fit an S-strip neatly round the arch with no gaps or visible fittings then unless it is used in salt I wouldn't bother.

Mine is used all year round, my summer transport is a 59 Matchless...........
The BGT is really my classic transport when it is raining or cold.

I have them on my V8 with a bit cut out to allow the exhausts to come through them. I fitted mine with four stainless self tapping screws round the arch lip and a couple of small nuts and bolts to keep the inner part against the inner wing. The self tappers screw into the plastic so the liner is completely inside the wheel arch lip and sealed to it with mastic. In fact the screws are hardly necessary as the plastic arch fitted firmly round the inside of the lip.

Some might not like seeing the screw heads, but that's their problem not mine. I don't notice them at all, and in the ten years I have been taking the car to shows, not one person has ever mentioned them. I have looked up behind them recently and they have done an excellent job at keeping the body behind clean, particularly the area around the headlight bowl. Make sure that everything behind is thoroughly coated in Waxoyl or Dinitrol before fitting. My car, like yours, is used all year.
