MG MGB Technical - Weber DCOE rebuilder?

Greetings
I have a bum Weber 45DCOE that needs some professional attention. Can anyone recommend a Weber carb rebuilder/expert? thanks
Pete

What's wrong with it? Webber's don't have many parts that wear. Might just need a good clean and tune with new needles.

Well it has all the proper jets in it, and yet it will only idle and rev. at idle. When the car is stationary it idles and revs necely, sounds healthy etc etc. Upon trying to drive it, it goes completely flat....no power at all! Barely runs. It appears to be starving for fuel. Something, somewhere must be clogged....
Bought it used! HELP

To start you should check your fuel pump, fuel filter, and ignition timing, as these are easy to fix in not correct. As for the carb, you said you bought it used, but it has all the correct jets in it? Do you know what it is off? Does the car run better with the choke pulled out?
I am not very familiar with Webers, but I think they have a main jet and a idle jet. Sounds like your main jet may be way off/clogged/ect.. There is another thread here with a link to some weber diagrams that may help you dissasemble them. If your sure you've got gas pressure, I'd pull it apart and look at the jets to make sure they are not clogged, and give it a general clean up. Check the numbers on the jets and ask around/look in the archives, to see what others are using. I know webers can be a pain to get tuned correctly. You may want to pull a plug to make sure it's starvation and not just floading.

I don't know how to set up a Weber DCOE, but the following should give
you enough information to set set it up correctly. FWIW, Clifton

This site (below)is good for Weber service and set up information as well.
Large site so it takes a while to load but it is worth it.
Cheers, Pete
