MG MGB Technical - Wheels swap
I,m in the process of building a Sebring and I'am trying to find out is any other cars have the same wheel stud pattern and hopefully pick up a reasonable set of secondhand widewheels. Not to worried about offset etc. I think that Reliant Scimitar are same stud pattern and these often had been fitted with 7 inch. Is there a website that lists the MCD for various cars? Brian, there was a link to just such a site posted a couple of months ago. I can't remember if it was on the B sites or midgets, or B engine conversions. Getting too old I guess. Check the archives, I think you'll find what you need. |

Brian, When I was investigating alternative wheels, I found that those for the Datsun 240 and 260Z fit as far as bolt pattern. They're easy to find on Ebay for instance, but wouldn't work for me, as they seemed to come no narrower than 7". Might be just what you're looking for, though, with your flares. I ended up using TR-6 wheels in 15", and 5.5 wide, which work great for me with a wire-wheel axle. Bill |

I've used TR6, Saab Shelby, Toyota Corolla, and Datsun Z wheels on my 'A and 'B and they all worked fine. Pictures: http://photobucket.com/albums/v307/dandomatic2/motorwerks/ I have AR Libres on my 'BGT now which came from a 240Z. My rear fenders are modified, but they all fit before. I cut them to fit 205/50-15, but ran 195/50 before. |
