MG MGB Technical - Which K&N for Weber DGV

Perhaps someone with a Weber DGV 32/ 36 conversion can help. I am trying to find the correct K&N filter and housing for a Weber DGV. So far I have 2 different part numbers, from a website- K&N part# 56-1070, and from K&N's site- part #56-9290, they are completely different. I would be inclined to go with K&Ns recommendation but this particular filter is 4 inches high. I am not sure this is going to clear the hood when closed. I've called several suppliers and they can not give me a solid answer. Any suggestions (besides dumping the Weber and reinstalling the twin SUs).

My new K&N DGV filter obtained from www.brit-tek.com shows part #E-3321 on the K&N box. It is slightly taller than the stock filter that came with my Weber 32/36 kit.

You are correct, the 4" filter is too tall, and your part number 56-9290 indicates it's cone-shaped.

The part number for mine does not appear on the K&N site and it may be a Brit-tek number. But it fits well. You may want to contact Bob at Brit-tek. You'll pay no more than anywhere else and likely you'll pay less with them.

John. If you need to run a tube from the front tappet cover to the air filter, make sure you get one with that capability. If you have a BAP auto parts store, or a VW specialist in your area, check with them. My local BAP has air filters for the DGV series as does the local VW specialist. The Weber is a popular conversion with them. Les

I recently installed the K+N filter to my DGV.
The correct K+N kit is 56-1070. It includes a nylon elbow fitting for the front tappet cover hose.
There is a "knockout" to accomodate the elbow but it is located on the body side of the carby, rather than the engine side. This is no big deal if the hose is long enough.

Included with the kit is the filter element Part No.E3441.

It was an easy install.
