MG MGB Technical - Windscreen/Frame
G'day I am about to replace the windscreen on my 1971 mgb roadster, and would like to take the opportunity to clean/polish the frame. Could anyone please advise on do's and dont's and general procedure? Thank you |

Hi 231- I did 3 a while back and chose to powder coat the one- in Spartan Bronze- for the sc car. If restoring the brush look start with 320 to get the sealer off ( or strip it) then go up to 2500 and very fine steel wool to finish. Today's polyurethane in a mat or smi hold up forever. Good luck, Vem

G'day Vem. Thank you. Appreciate your reply. Would you know if the original finish is Satin Anodised? Is that an expensive application? Dave |

231 Sorry, don't know, although an anodized bronze might be spiffy, done along with the heater grate and wipers, and, if you're, highly motivated, the quarter light frames. Vic |

i had my frame chrome plated, as I feel MG should have done originally. |
