MG MGB Technical - Windscreen spacers
Could someone please tell me which of the mgb roadster windscreen pillar packing spacers, uselessly called 'inner' (AHH6413) and 'outer' (AHH6414), is the aluminium one? I konw I should have noted it when I dismantled the beast but I didn't!! Richard |

Grovelling apologies. Just checked and realised I put the wrong numbers against the descriptions! Can we start again? AHH6413 is 'outer'. AHH6414 is 'inner'. Which is the ali item? Richard |

the softer one goes up against the body of the car. The spacers are there to ensure that when you tighten up the bolts the bottom of the windscreen is not pulled in (it doesn't take much) thereby stressing the upper corners of the screen. you may even feel that you need to add an extra packing piece. If you take off the little covers at the top of the door jams it makes it easier. They are only held on with a few small rivets and can be glued or screwed back on, or even left off. |
