MG MGB Technical - wiper toggle switch

I would like to change the rocker wiper switch in my '72 B to a toggle (dash change).
Did Euro 'Bs have such an item for the 2 speed wipers?
If so do any of you Brits happen to have the part number?
Much appreciated ..

Graham,

To me toggle and rocker switches are the same. I assume you mean the flick switches used on cars up to 1970? I had a two speed one in my 70 BGT so they are available. To get a part number I'd suggest looking at http://www.moss-europe.co.uk

Just had a quick look and it appear your terminology is correct! You learn something new everyday! Anyway, part number for flick/toggle 2 speed wiper switch is BHA4786.

Iain,
Thank you for the information & the part number.
Now I can find out if the local LBC parts chap has them in stock.

Switch is available. When you get it, check it over well. I had to send my first two back due to factory defects.

The toggle headlight switch can be used as a wiper switch, the early ones were basically identical generic parts with unused spades in each application. Later switches became application specific. Odd request though.

Bruce,
Will do. Had the same problem w/a 'new' crook style o/d switch. Nasty to try & find an electrical problem
when you assume a new part is good.

Paul,
Thanks for the info. Request is for mods I'm doing for a metal dash. I want to get rid of the rocker switches. I belive the toggle ones were more relaiable. Not to mention better looking IMHO.

Graham,

I converted my dash 68 to a metal dash several years ago. I used this company from the UK for my switches:

Additionally, I used 2 relays and a toggle switch to actuate the hazard lights. If you would like information on this. I have the article and instructions somewhere and could PM it to you.
