MG MGB Technical - wire question
Just checking here, Is the white with black wire + and all white ground? Thanks |
dragojlovichs@bellsouth.net |
No. All white is the 12v feed from the ignition to the +ve coil terminal on -ve ground cars. White/black is the wire from the points which goes to the coil -ve. It is the ignition coil you are talking about, I assume, details like that can be important :o) |

Karl, If you have a pertronix electronic ignition the red wire goes to the plus coil terminal and the black goes to the negative. Verify you have a Pertronix if you don't know, look at the unit inside the distributor, the name should be on it somewhere. Don't get it reversed, if you do it will destroy the ignition unit. (Red to + Positive Black to - Negative.) The wiring diagram will help for other electrical problems but it will not cover add on items like the Pertronix. Clifton |
