MG MGB Technical - Wiring diagrams in color

I have just updated the MGB schematics to include the later model MGB, MGC, and the MGBV8. These diagrams can be found at http://www.advanceautowire.com Just click on the "stock schematics" buttom. This file now has 32 pages of diagrams.

One member of this forum has suggested that these diagrams have no value because I cannot guarantee that a given schematic will be a match for a specific car. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I can't fathom his objection to these. These are the same diagrams you are now using, except they have been redrawn to make them easier to read, and the wiring is now in color. The title block on each drawing provides the source of the original diagram, so if you have already identified a particular diagram that matches your car, either from Haynes, Bentley, or your owner's manual, all you have to do is find the same diagram in my file and it will be the same match as you now have. The only thing I have changed on these drawings is obvious errors in the original. For example, I found a couple of instances where the purple/white wire was shown as connected directly to a purple wire (if this were to happen, you would blow a fuse every time you opened the door!). I found a couple of diagrams that had the power to the dash light tied to the output of the gauge voltage stabilzer, and one case where a green wire was connected directly to ground! Other than that, there are no changes to the diagrams from the original, other than format.

Feel free to copy these diagrams, pass them around to friends, and let every one know they are here. If you find any errors, either between the original diagrams and the actual cars, or between the originals and my re-draws, please let me know.

Hopefully, these will make it easier to keep our electricals in good working order, and keep the smoke in where it belongs!

Way to go Dan! Thanks for your efforts. I've seen diagrams like these for sale and they make tracking wires a lot easier. I can't imagaine anyone complaining unless they have white and white vision.

Dan;
I think your diagrams are great. They are so much easier to follow than the ones in the mgb manuals. Thanks for providing them for our use.

Dan,

These are beautiful. Thank you very much for the time you must have spent on this project, and for offering them to the masses without charge.

I downloaded the file and then printed off the appropriate pages for my MGC and my MGB. Took them to Kinko's and had them enlarged 200% form 8-1/2" x 11", then laminated. Total cost less than US$6.00.

MUCH easier to read and trace now!

Thanks again, Dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 30-40 yrs it was about time that someone came up with something better and more easily readable. Ya even outdid Haynes who had an opportunity as well. Good work, Dan. Not every Britcar enthusiast is Right Brained, and those who aren't are grateful.

Ditto, great job and thanks!
