MG MGB Technical - Wiring to doors
Hi, Has anyone found a neat method to run wires into the doors of a 1967 mgb roadster? I want to fit remote locking solenoids, and maybe speakers and there is not any way I can see to neatly run wires into the doors from the body. TIA. Herb |

Check these out. http://www.jegs.com/i/Painless/764/40024/10002/-1 They are a little pricey when shipped to Canada they cost over a third more, but I am looking for some with more reasonable shipping. I tired some which were Braided stainless steel covering a hose. They didn't make it through the first season after installation. |

Afraid I cheated and used heat shrink around the wires keeping them flat. Then small cable ties along the hinge arm. Not terribly elegant but it works! Removed the trim panels to fit. Michael |

Herb. Theyt are used on Ford Windstar vans. Go to your local parts yard.Bet you they willl sell them to you Sandy 95/99 windstars in my driveway |

YES! On the sliding RH door they are 4 pin. Sandy |

My 75 V8 doors had grommet-filled holes in the carcass near the top hinge, quite easy to run wires for central locking to follow the curve of the hinge plate going into the door, and through the hinge and footwell panel to behind the dash for whatever. Following the curve means gentle bends and no sharp corners or angles, worked fine for quite a few years now. |

Hi All, Thanks for your replies. I have looked up the Painless jamb tacs in Australia. Found them, but not in stock and not on order. Michael, I had considered this option, and if nothing else comes I will probably do something like this. Paul One of my doors (the doors are different to each other) has two holes where you describe. Could you post a photo of your arrangement? Thanks Herb |

Attached. Not intended to be a thing of beauty, at the time the car was my daily driver used in all weathers. I used sheathed twin mains flex as that is intended for situations where it will be flexed frequently and hence is many-stranded.

A picture of my girlfriends car, a 78 GT. Much like Paul's but hers has little metal clips to hold the wire to the hinges. Not sure if they are original or not? |
