MG MGF Technical - Any decent prices for SO2's in London area

Dear All

Haveing got SO2's on the front I have decide that I had better get some for the back.

Does anyone know anywhere in the London area when I could find them at a resonable price?

Just to add that I was going round a roundabout and a rather annoying thing happened, the front with SO2's griped but the back was all over the place, I wasn't even hammering it. Just shows you that the SO'2 may look a bit ugly but the grip is second to none.

Told ya it could go pear shaped. I'm in the hunt for tyres aswell, if i phone round i'll let you know the prices.

Due to uneven tyre wear on one of my rear tyres its looking like they might not make it much past the 10,000. but what fun i've had with them.
Matt

S-02's ugly? Nah- they are the best looking tyre on the market- definitely the 'hardest'! ;o)

Sunil, the two cheapest stockists I can think of (there may be more) are Elite in Rainham, Essex (01708 525577) and Feltham tyres near Heathrow (020 8890 7138).

Dear All (Rob)

I have been to Farnham tyres recently and I had my tracking done there. They were not very competitive with the price of S02's, well not as cheap as Micheal Dever tyres. They also have not done a great job of setting my tracking as the car pulls to the left and the steering wheel is off centre.

They also said that the camber can not be adjusted, which I am not sure is true.

Might want to try Sheen Tyres in ... Sheen nr Richmond.

Sunil, are Farnham tyres the same company as Feltham tyres??? I was under the impression that they weren't... especially as they (Feltham tyres) have always done a good job wrt tracking on my car.

I've always found Feltham good for tracking but expensive for tyres ...
Gaz

sunil,

don't want to buy ugly tyres, mate - you might find that blondes at bus stops no longer look at you.

still, i expect there is nothing wrong with your grip, eh?
michael

Dear Rob

Please forgive me I actually meant Feltham tyres. And yes I am not really very happy with the job they did.

Sunil

However they did say to go back when I get the rears done and they will look at it again.

Sunil

LOL Micheal

Your a funny guy, there's really no begining to your talents mate. No really!

Sunil,
Don't know how competitive these prices are but Treadsafe Tyres 020 8300 1512(Footscray near Sidcup) quoted me: 195/50 68.15 and 205/50 105.75 both fitted. I found them very helpful with my past car(s),but I'd probably go to someone else to get the tracking done afterwards as I've not used them for this before.

If you find any better than this please let me know as I'm still looking to get mine done very soon ,once I can justify chucking away these crappy NCT's which still have too much tread left-why don't you get uneven tyre wear when you want it?? ;o)

Sue.
Sue

Sue, just do it, you'll realise that you were perfectly justified in 'wasting' all that tread once you have your new S02s

Does anybody have details of the tyre place in Hounslow that can do tracking.

Due to lots of london driving i think i need mine doing urgently, one of me REAR tyres is wearing un evenly (could his be anything other than tracking?). it wouldn't suprise me if its been knocked out with all the pot holes.
Matt

Dear Sue

The place that I when to in Catford was probably the best price I have found todate in the Lodnon area, however I am a bit annoyed as they have scratched the egdes of my rims
