MG MGF Technical - Brake discs
Just had the front discs replaced using standard items and looking at the rears I reckon they will need changing at the next service. Question is can I use uprated discs grooved/drilled on the rears while still keeping the standard items on the fronts ? Gaz P15VVC |

If the uprated discs in mind still is same diameter as standard ones , IMO there will be no upset of brake-balance by fitting grooved / drilled discs. Could be a first step towards later on going for the 280 mm upgrade at front. This because rear disc wear will in normal cases be so much lower than front disc wear so they will outlast the original front ones! Grooved / drilled discs normally give benefit of letting gases out at heavy braking and faster drying of wet discs. So this will as long as no brakepad change (green stuff etc.) is done really not alter anything but give a nicer apperance. Regards , Carl. |
