MG MGF Technical - Courtesy light and 'Lights on' Buzzer not working
Evening all, by golly it's a long, long time since I was treading these boards! If anyone remembers me from years ago - Good evening and the Boomstick is back. I have pinched Wifey's Trophy 160 for a while as I had to sell my own wheels. It's covered less than 3000 miles in the 3 and a half years we've had it and we're trying to get it pristine again. I currently have an issue with the courtesy light in the drivers side of the tunnel and the headlights on warning buzzer not working when the drivers door is opened. If you leave the door open for a couple of minutes they burst into life. Or if you lock and unlock the doors with the drivers door open they will work too. I'm guessing / hoping it's a relay or something, but if anyone has experienced this I'd be grateful for a solution. Kind Regards Kieren |

No direct experiance with this silly failure. But I'd bet it's a problem with the door lock. Three tiny cherry micro-switches inside of each lock and they are prone to fail in case of humidity ingress. Does the immobilizer system work as it should ? |

Hi Dieter, Thanks for the response - as I remember you're usually right and this time is no different! It was indeed the micro switches. Cleaned them up andall working fine now. Thanks for the help. Kieren |
