MG MGF Technical - Fuel gauge reading

Hi

Since having my petrol tank replaced a couple of months ago (because of the smell) I've noticed the fuel economy of my MGF has fallen.

Also I now have great difficulty filling the car with petrol. One example was on the way home from Silverstone 2000, when the fuel pump didn't cut off and petrol was sent spewing over the forecourt. When I got back into the car the fuel gauge wasn't even reading full! I have always had minor difficulties filling my MGF but never to this extent.

Has anyone got any idea's or had similar experiences.
