MG MGF Technical - K&N Billet Fuel Filters (Are they any use on the 'F' ?)

Hi Guys,

I was checking out K&N's website http://www.knairfilters.com/fuelfilters.htm and found:

K&N Billet Fuel Filters

"K&N has built the best hi-performance air filters for years. And the new Billet Aluminium Fuel Filter takes this performance to a new level. This fuel filter provides the highest filtration quality with a 304 stainless steel filter disc which will stop particles as small as 10 microns in size.

The large fuel filter flows 3,407 litres (900 US gallons) of fuel per hour and will withstand up to 6000 psi of pressure."

Four questions:
Does anyone see the use of one on a "F" ?
Does anyone already have one ?
Will it fix in an "F" ?
And the question everyone wants to know.. Will it make the "F" go faster ?

I was just looking at spending some money (but not wasting it)

Thanx

will it cause HGF ?????????

The best thing about billet fuel filters is that they look good! Unfortunately, in an MGF it is somewhat hidden from view- so no one would know about your investment.

Moreover, it doesn't make any special noise when you accelerate.

then keep it.

IMO. They are only worth having if you do not have a fuel filter already. As with all new cars there is a fuel filter. The standard fuel filter is good enough. I would recommend not letting the fuel tank get really low i.e half a gallon in the tank as the fuel filter may pick up some particles which may cause fuel starvation. Note that on new cars like the F there is little chance of getting particles in the tank. It is just when cars get old after many fillings at the petrol station there is a chance of contaminats getting into the system. Another point to bear in mind is that most fuel has a cleaning agent added and this may disolve some of these contaminates. So personally I would not waste my money.
