MG MGF Technical - K&N - Exhuast = Not worth it?

Ok

Finaly Decided gonna join the others on the Dark Side (cue Vader heavy breathing :))

Q is it worth just getting the K&N first or should I wait until I can goto Mr Saturs and get a nice shiny daytona as well??

Cheers

Do it bit by bit - then you can decide what each component contributes. If you're really up for it, get a rolling road test before and after each mod and share the info with everyone. I wish I'd done that now - hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Hi Dave

I Hear you let David Andrews loose on your head(??) whats your impressions of the car after having the wizard playing with it?

Mark
Mark Catterall

Absolutely wonderful! DVA certainly knows his stuff. The engine sounds so much smoother and faster through the rev range. The RR curves are very good. Straight line on Power and lovely flat torque. I've already sampled the delights around Rockingham and am looking forward to learning my way around Brands this Sunday.

Cheers,

Mark - buy both LOL!

Seriously though, there is more power to be had per quid spent, so that is the option I'd go for first, and then the exhaust.

For a comparison between filter and exhaust see http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/exhaust_good_as_filter.htm

Mark, watch out for Darth Andrews - he truely knows the power of the darkside! ;o))

Already spoken (via email) to Dave 'Darth' Andrews and think I'll be giving him a ring soon:)

The K&N is a must.......The best mod I did to my F. Not so convinced about the Daytona though, the noise was a bit much some days.
James King

Mark,

Go for the K&N before changing the exhaust. The other way around would spoil too much fun.
You will be impressed by just changing the 57i.

The exhaust will follow by the forces of the Darkside. If you feel the forces, don't ignore them or trouble will follow soon enough ;-)

OK K&N is going on order, hopefuly latter in the week :) before i have a jaunt down to Bodmin on the weekend :))

Hi Mark,

What about an ITG Maxogen or Viper instead of K&N?

Chris

Hi Chris

It all comes down to cost at the end of the day:)

I did filter first and then the exhaust. Filter was the best £100 I spent. In the VVC you really notice the diffrence. Exhaust adds a little, but sounds great

Haven't a clue, but I found the cheapest to be B&G which are on here somewhere. £100 inc delivery
