MG MGF Technical - K&N filter cleaning
I have just cleaned my K&N filter after 20k miles of use. It was incredibly dirty ! there was like mud stuck to it on the underside. Now, it's drying. After, I'll impregnate it with the K&N oil and I wonder how I'll feel the difference ... maybe the increase in consumption that I noticed recently was related to the dirty filter ? Fabrice I'll clean it from now every 10 K ! |

> I'll clean it from now every 10 K ! ... then the material of your engine cover will fringe out sooner than you want to ;-) Or do you have an idea of removing the K&N filter without dismantling the engine cover (access through the boot lid)? Markus |

>> Or do you have an idea of removing the K&N filter without dismantling the engine cover (access through the boot lid)?<< That's how I did, Markus. There isn't much place, but still enough to take the filter out. Of course, the screw of the jubilee clip has to be accessible ... Fabrice |

Guyz, I have just cleaned mine and it now sounds just as new ... hiss and induction roar are now back to normal. Mid range torque has improved again back to what it should have been. Gaz P15VVC |

Hi Guys, Did my K&N element last week. It had only done 7000 miles but was quite dirty. Probably due to the induction system used. Anyhoo, i let it dry overnight and gave it some fresh oil. What a difference! as Gaz says nice fresh intake roar and more torque. Nick :-) |

guys, Can seem to find the original manual for my 57i kit. What's the recommended interval for cleaning the K&N filter? thanks Mike |

Did mine last month. Car on 65,000 Miles. The car had done 50,000 on the K&N without cleaning. Now runs and works very well. |
