MG MGF Technical - LH sound dampening pad, on 1.8?
I fixed the grinding noice on my RH side in the weekend. It was the alternator belt tensioner. (AC versions) I also installed the protective pad, that was missing on my car, however, when I ordered this pad, I first got the wrong part. I got one that fit the LH-side. I don't have any pad there either, but the mechanic claims that ONLY the VVC cars have the LH pad. Is that true? /Oskar |

Hi Oskar, interesting. I suppose there is no difference between VVC or none VVC mudshields, neither RH or LH ?? The mgtf should have two of, one at each side. The only I can say is a change of the alternator side mudshield from old felt/fabric like to the new plastic part. Did you finally get the new design CLK000020 made from plastic ? HTH Dieter |

Having a LHS splash guard is actually a very good idea: keeps dirt out of the engine bay. When I get around to removing the resonator box on my MGF, I'll probably be after one of those - what was the part number and cost? The VVC/ MPi question - no idea - there is no reason why a VVC should have it and an MPi shouldn't? |
