MG MGF Technical - MGF VVC Exhaust systems

I am fitting a K&N 57i induction kit to a VVC and wonder if anybody has tried different exhaust systems
with this kit?
Any recommendations?

Andy,

I don't know if anybody else shares my opinion on that matter, but I for one found the SP performance exhaust too noisy on my VVC. It just sounded like a completely free exhaust, which is not my idea of a sporty sound. I guess it is down to the better breathing of that engine. I have heard one on an Mpi and it sounded ok. Incidentally, that exhaust is for sale in another thread here... :-)

I don't know if you've already seen it, but there was a recent article in MG World magazine that may interest you - a round up of exhaust systems for the F. A number of the regulars to this BBS being responsible for the testing and article - well worth a read in your situation I would have thought. For that matter it worth reading anyway. :)

a better question could have been: "who isn't driving around with another exhaust system?"

ROFL
me not !

Andy, as already written, a kind of taste. I would recommend to decide for your own.
IMO you'll find two principal sorts of sound.
The 911 Porsche sound (sorry to the Miltek family)
The my be more silent but deaper grumbling ones.

You'll find a selection including the MG-World tested Exhausts at Rob Bells Webside.

And another one at my chaotic collection side:

Andy,
to give you an idea of how loud the Supersport is,
the police in Welshpool have stopped me twice in the last 4 weeks to check it, they sit near a roundabout where you can pull 7k revs in second on exit.
(mind you, they have B-all else to do on a friday night, terribly polite tho.)
Cheers

I compared various exhaust tests and concluded that the SP super sports exhaust would give me the greatest power increase and the best sound.

I would like to hear from some of you a more subjective opinion. Is the power increase significant and is the sound really that thrilling?

Please put your opinion on this forum.

Thanks,

Nick
