MG MGF Technical - MGTF to MGF Headlights???

Is it possible to fit mgtf headlights directly into a 1998 MGF??
tj black

nope, you have to get the bumper as well, have a look in the archives, plenty of discussion when the TF first came out.

Not directly, no. You'll have to alter the TF lamp bowl considerably to fit.

Good news: the wing/bonnet to light shape is the same as the F's.

Bad news: the TF lamps are shallower - and because they incorporate the direction indicator lamps, they're wider too.

But I reckon they'd look fantastic on an F: see a much- photoshop'd image of a TF lamp on an F: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/mgf_concepts/tf_lamp_on_mgf.jpg

I have a pair of damaged TF lamps, and plan to see if I can get them to fit... will let you know how I get on.

The easiest option though, will be to buy an F to TF conversion: Mike Satur and the MGF Centre both retail these kits, and they look pretty good (see Mike Satur's web site: http://www.mikesatur.co.uk)

I thought Moss (?) were now doing a conversion kit to fit the TF front lights to the F - no mention of needing a new bumper. I thought it was strange when someone else posted the remark. =-s

Looks like there might be a filler piece at the bottom of the lamp unit, perhaps?

This one is for the TF conversion: you have to buy the lamps AND the bumpers - although the way that the shop is constructed, this is made more ambiguous that it should be.

This is for the MGF Trophy lamps. At that price, I'd paint my existing ones!!!

If you wanted to fit a modified TF lamp assembly into an F, then you'd definitely need a filler piece, you're right Tim.

One I've built my "workshop" (a rather over grandiose term for the space I've got, sadly) - I'll start working on it :o)
