MG MGF Technical - Michelin Tyres for MGTF in Australia
I am investigating to buy a set of new tyres for my mgtf 135, 2002. The sizes needed are Front: 195/45R16, Rear: 215/40R16. Has anyone in Australia had/has Michelin tyres fitted? If so, what is the model of the Tyres and Size used? I checked the Michelin website in Australia and I cannot find any of the size's listed above. Thanks. |

Hi Branko, My tyre guy by mistake ordered Michelin Pilot Sport 3's in 215/40/17 thinking to fit my MGF but they are for the Ford XR6 company car, which are far too small. Unfortunately they will not fit your car. Michelin have just come out wth a longer wearing tyre called the MX2 launched a week ago. Michelin's Australian website is not up to date and I have informed them of this. If you want longer tyre wear go the MX2. At present Michelin Pilot Sport 3 are not available in Australia till July sometime. Email Michelin Australia through their website with your tyre size and they'll get back to you with what type of Michelin tyre is suitable/available for your car. Also ask them if/where they are in stock otherwise you'll be searching all over Australia like I did and then find out they are not available for months. have fun & hope this helps in your investigating, Sue |
