MG MGF Technical - One-shot window relays
Is it possible and convenient to add the relevant relay(s) to the electric window circuit(s) to make them capable of one-shot operation? (on a late 1997 1.8i) |

Possible yes, convenient no. I haven't looked at the issue in detail with the F but it means a fair degree of centre console strip and wiring intrusion. Rog |

Bob Dieter did this on his old F ... I think he fitted an after market box of tricks. Dieter ... ?? Stefan |

Yup, but mine is no longer official availiable (Benxon) see my website. I still keep the old part in the garage to install in my current car but worry about the 3 hours works to get it in. (BBS chat is much easier) Case of convenient... depends on. The automatic close option is dangerous and ruled regarding killing women while they looking near inside to the driver. I heard this could happen in some special roads (red light zones) ;) Anyway, serious. Current options are to get two relays of the current MGF or mgtf models and connect them to the old MGF wiring. The frequent mentioned breakers could be an option to get them. Another I know of is from a company named 'In.Pro'. http://www.duw.de .. see D&W Shop.. click on label in third last row. ... Car Comfort>Fensterheber and then Fensterheberschliessmodul (65.95 EUR) http://www.duw.de/shop2002/(wobq2onckkyfgrje0pkifqrv)/detail_view.aspx?category=0&folder=0&product=1491 May be MS and B&G have something similar. Lots of works at the wiring, indeed. HTH Dieter |
