MG MGF Technical - Proper splitter
Hey Guys when the F was being originally developed they put a lower from air dam on the front and it made a huge difference to airflow under the car and to stability at high speeds. Here's an extension to the front bumper have a look what would you recon...any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2435343717 Neil I am top bidder by the way! |

Trophy splitter as used on trophy versions of the F (160Bhp, a forerunner of the TF160). The trophy was a late development of the F Apparently not as effective as the K&H splitter, and will cause you issues with front fogs (if you have them fitted). Otherwise quite effective. |

Hey SF... SF (car)is looking bloody HOT but I think that if this is fitted and painted in mattblack it might look pretty good too what do you reckon? Neil |

Erik“s site is back online!!! Great cheers, david |

Yep, came back on earlier this week. :-) -------- Neil, Not sure mate, might work as there is quite a lot of black on the F anyway. Probably better to paint the upstands red to match your bumper and the 'tongue' black, whaddya reckon back? ;-) SF |

yep got one as well Neil and like it,one thing depending how high you bid, don't forget cost of having to spray your car colour, which will cost few quid, Dave. ps MGF centre do them sprayed for £90, Dave. |

I have a spray gun and the car is flame red ie a flat colour =easier to spray so I'll paint it! bargain eh! |
Neil |
Personally I prefer the KH splitter, just think its got an aggressive look about it. But the Trophy style splitter looks OK. Just MY opinion! |

>> ps MGF centre do them sprayed for £90 Really, they quoted me £150 fitted!!! |
Phil |
They are about £150ish that's right, 90 is an unsprayed price from what I remember. For latest prices give Victoria a call. 01902 403045 If you do intend to spray the bumper yourself make sure to use the proper plastic primer paint, otherwise it'll start looking like a paint job on a 12 year old 3-series BMW spoiler. |

Neil, These trophy splitters are made by a guy and sold on Ebay all the time. He also does slab moulds and a load of other things. If I recall right they tend to go for about £40. Check his history and see what he's sold them for before. I enquired about one a while ago, but wasn't sure how well they would fit. DC |

I've seen a website where they seem to fit, we'll see eh! I had a 1979 BMW recently...didnt have any spoilers though...just as well ; ) |
Neil |
Currently only £25 so it looks like a real bargain!! N |
Neil |
Neil, I see it went for £34, did you get it? If so, will you tell us what the fit is like and if it's worth the money. |
David Clelland |
Also possible in combination with foglamps, thanks to my brother in law, who's done the job. http://www.mgtf.be/images/MO_EX_SP_TrophyFog_02.JPG http://www.mgtf.be/images/MO_EX_SP_TrophyFog_03.JPG |

I was winning the bidding and the next time I looked it had gone and I had been pipped to the post! typical..! N |
Neil |
BV Bruno, DO you have any instruction on what your brother in law did? I too am v interested in fitting a trophy spoiler but have held back as I currently have fog lights. Cheers Steve |
Steve |
Neil, As I said above, the seller advertises on Ebay all the time. Drop him a line, explain that you just missed out on the spoiler and ask him if he will sell you one. I think he sometimes has a Buy Now figure quoted. |
David Clelland |
Steve, I'll try to explain to you how my brother in law has done the job, although it's not so easy for me because I'm dutch speeking. Let's give it a try : First of all : what you need : Stanley knife, body sealer(we were using Kent Quick seal), 2 comp. Plastic repair, Plastic filler, abrasives... Cut out the hole's in the spoiler with drill and knife. The plastic ring around the foggy's must also be cut whith the stanley, so that the ring is fitting the hole in the spoiler. you have to work it on with a lot of 2 comp. plastic repair kit, so that everything is fitting very well. "Let the abrasives to their job" and finish the work with plastic filler. Fit the spoiler as instructed and do the paint job. I shall try to make one of these days a drawing how the rings must be cutted and how the holes must be drilled in the spoiler. |
