MG MGF Technical - Return of the Graunch
Hi Folks, Ok, winter is now upon us and the MGF has dropped around 5mm. The graunching sound from my right suspension is back. This suggests to me that the height is a factor. I have had the suspension looked at and the problem went away in the summe, nothing appears wrong. I had a thought of what the cause may be and have come to the conclusion that it may be something simple. When I fitted tom's K&N bracket I did not bother to re-route my cold air pipes so they go through the old air box still meaning that the pipes are not exacly taking the straightest route. It could be that it is the cold air pipes causing the noise. In the past I have found simple things like the engine sevice grill under the boot lid can cause loud noises, everything behind the driver seems to get amplified so this could be the problem. I will have to fix this to see if this is the problem as I can't understand what is causing the noise. I checked the shock mount welds and it seems ok. I have had none of the other crossmember symptoms so I don't think that is the problem. Anyway back to diagnosis. |
