MG MGF Technical - Steering Wheel

Last Wednesday I was driving down the road, and suddenly 'a big bang'.............No - not the Head Gasket! - that was last month...........Someone came out of the blue and ran into me!

Anyway - does anyone know the size of the nut that holds the steering wheel on? Car is written off so I want to retrieve my leather wheel and put the old tacky plastic one back on - but need to borrow a socket.

If anyone knows the size I would be grateful - thanks

Paul,

You need a 19mm socket, preferably with a long reach, if I remember correctly.

Yep, 19mm, plus a T30 Torx bit to remove the airbag module.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery and leave the SRS system for a full 10 minutes to let it completely discharge first.

Thanks - I'll try not to blow myself out of the car with the air bag!
