MG MGF Technical - Steptronic EM-CVT Gearbox-Interface part number ?
Hi, had a call from a dutch MGF owner with a strange story and a more or less easy question. At first a parts question. Can someone with access to the parts records please look up the partnumber for the Gearbox-interface and the price and availiability ? Are there different versions of this Interface ? Not sure about the right english name. That box is located anywhere in the boot, I suppose on the left side. In Workshop manual Edition No 8 it's shown on page 1 of the CVT description (#6) , or much more detailed on page 6 (#17) in the centre. Eight input lines from Switches, gear box, steering wheel etc go in and four go out. As well of technical interest. This interface seams to have a status line to the ECM and a serial diagnose line related to ISO9141-2 K... whatever this means. Now to the strange...and secrets ... I'm not familiar with all the delivered MGF versions. So can someone confirm or not whether - CVT and aircon is an impossible combination ? - Steptronic cars never got exported to Japan, means, there doesn't exist any Japan version with CVT ? At last I'd be interested to know what was the first VIN of Steptronic equipped cars. Should be anything about VIN 504xxx ?? Regards Dietert |
