MG MGF Technical - Suck in water?

Can anyone who has fitted the K&N induction kit tell me if there is a danger of sucking water into the engine in the raining season? (All year round the way the weather is going)

I am curious as my car will be used all year round and we get a fair bit of flooding in the lanes where I live.

I remember various reports of cars hydraulicing? their engines when driving through relatively minor flood water, and their intakes weren't a couple on inches above the road.

Not with the K&N alone, but this is a posibility with enclosed filters (like K&N is Rover800 airbox)

I never had a problem with water.

As long as you fit the pipes the correct distance away from the filter which is waterproof you should not have any problems.

The main problem will be keeping the pipes intact under the car, i'm bias but the best way is to use one of my brackets which hold the pipes more securely and help to keep them intact.

email me for further info.

PS brackets will be available at silverstone.
