MG MGF Technical - TF keycode/engine code
Hi I bought an mgtf new three years ago but looking closely at the documentation now I'm not sure I've got the right keycode documentation. In particular I haven't got the Security Card mentioned in the handbook. The car has a non-standard radio -- a JVC -- and I have the details for that on one card. Separately I have an MG Rover card which gives a keycode number -- but not the 4-digit Engine Immobilisation Overrride code. To complicate things, just after I bought the car there was an electrical problem that involved provision of new keyfobs, so I'm not even sure whether the code I've got matches the fobs I've got. And to complicate things further, the garage I bought it from is no longer there. Great! So my question is: Is there any way of checking whether I've got the matching fobs/code and finding out the four digit override, please? |

If you take your car to any MG garage that has the T4 diagnostic equipment they should be able to retrieve your key code for you from the ECU. However, be warned they will charge for this service. |
